Cellulite Treatments for a Perfect Body

Cellulite is common in women with up to 95 percent suffering the condition some time during their life. It is thought that the condition affects women more than men because of the higher level of fat that female's have. Millions of women each year search for the ultimate cellulite treatment. Some are very satisfied with their choice but others are left wanting.

Many women are surprised to find out that celebrities and other famous women suffer from cellulite. This is because the media often portrays these women as being perfect, covering up the imperfections with makeup.

The cause of cellulite is found right below the layer of skin. Here, there is thin pockets of fat which are contained in honeycomb like structures. If this fat begin the bulge from this honeycomb then cellulite starts and dimpling appears on the upper side of the skin.

Cellulite is seen mostly in the hips, thighs and buttocks. However, it can be found in other areas of the body especially if there a is lot of fat in that particular area. Your predisposition to the condition is usually due to your genes. So the relationship between cellulite and excess fat is not a direct one with skinny women also suffering from it.

Genes are not the only cause, however. Other risk factors can include being overweight, alcohol, caffeine, medication like the contraceptive pill, a lack of exercise, a slow metabolism and not enough water. This a short list of the most common risk factors but if you have cellulite you should take a look to see if any of these maybe a contributing cause.

Older people are also more prone because the skin begins to lose its natural collagen with age and the structure that holds the fat together beneath the skin begins to break down.

These risk factors give you an insight in to how to reduce cellulite from those parts of your body they are affecting. Start by drinking more water, developing an exercise plan and eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. Stop consuming foods with high calories or fat content, and avoid caffeine.

It is important that when you start to exercise that you use both the cardio equipment and weights. Toning your muscles will help to set a solid foundation for the fat beneath the skin and stretch the skin to reduce the appearance of those dimples.
