Have you ever noticed how much harder it is to put on your eyeliner and mascara when the weather turns colder? When it gets colder, your mascara can be a little stiffer coming out of the tube making a smooth application next to impossible. Maybe your eyeliner seems to be almost frozen solid. It doesn't take much to make your eyeliner harder which makes putting it on really difficult. Colder weather can pose a few problems for eye makeup application, but I have a few makeup tips that I've learned and I hope will you apply your eye makeup a little easier this winter.

It is so annoying when eyeliner seems to be too hard and cold to apply properly. The good news is that each of us holds the key to fixing the problem. It is our bodies. Your body heat is the perfect temperature to warm up that chilled eye makeup. Simply put your eyeliner right on your stomach or hip allowing your clothes to hold it tight. It doesn't take very long to warm it up and it will be ready for application. A simple thing I do is allow my eyeliner to warm up while I am doing my hair.

This same tip is great for your mascara. When it's too cold, mascara is often more difficult to deal with than eyeliner. When it's cold, your lashes end up looking clumped together and stiff. Using your body heat works great to avoid letting your mascara ruin your makeup look. I've found that it takes a little bit longer to warm up than the eyeliner, so you'll want to give it a few extra minutes. You'll find that the time is worth it when your mascara then goes on smoothly.

I never apply mascara without curling my lashes first. With that in mind, I have one final tip to help your lashes look their best. To get the best curl from your lashes, you can warm up your eyelash curler. Think about it, you use a warm curling iron to curl your hair, why wouldn't your eyelashes curl better if the eyelash curler were warm. I will use my body heat to help warm my eye lash curler.

Sometimes I find myself in a rush. In these cases, I simply run my blow dryer over it for a few seconds to warm it up. If you use your blow dryer, be cautious not to heat it up too much. There's nothing worse than gaining 20 MORE pounds of muscle you have to carry down the field, or move around the ring to prevent getting blown away - and that 20 pounds of muscle is not doing you any good.

Most women don't want to look like the hulk. They don't want to put on 20 pounds of muscle. They just want to get "toned". As I mentioned before, strength training is the best way to get the toned look.

Blocked Fallopian Tubes

Your fallopian tubes are two minute tubes that link the ovaries to the uterus, and are also named uterine tubes, salpinges or oviducts. After intercourse, the sperm swims from the vaginal canal, through the cervical opening and into the uterus. If you're ovulating, the sperm cells that reach the fallopian tubes swim towards the egg, and only one of them will fertilize it.

There is a condition that affects the fallopian tubes called Salpingitis. Salpingitis is occurs when an infectious agent causes the tubes to swell and inflame. Most commonly, the reason why the tubes are affected is PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. Salpingitis can result in the walls of the fallopian tubes sticking together, which causes blocked fallopian tubes. Salpingitis can cause painful ovulation, painful menstruation, pain during sexual intercourse, and a change in the color or smell of vaginal discharge.

Hydrosalpinx can also cause blocked fallopian tubes. A hydrosalpinx takes place when the a watery liquid builds up in the fallopain tubes. You are already aware that the lining of the fallopian tubes release a fluid to soften its lining. In a healthy woman, this fluid runs from the fimbria- the part of the fallopian tubes nearest to the ovaries, down into the uterus. The main cause of a hydrosalpinx is pelvic inflammatory disease, however it is also the result of foreign bacteria overgrowth, endometriosis, or even damage from previous surgeries. Most women with a hydrosalpinx don't know they have one because they're not experiencing any symptoms or side effects, so it can go untreated.

Other ways fallopian tubes can be blocked by fluids include Pyosalpinx a pustled fallopian tube, and Hematosalpinx a tube engorged with blood.

Additionally, blocked fallopian tubes are caused by an adhesion. This is when tissues are abnormally connected by bands of fibrous tissue, as a result of injury, surgery, endometriosis or scarring after inflammation. When adhesions grow in or around the fallopian tubes, they can result in the fallopian tubes becoming twisted, or the lining of the fallopian tubes becoming stuck together.

Fallopian tube blockage is one of the most common causes of female infertility. Thankfully, blocked fallopian tubes can be opened up, because of medical technology. While medicine and surgery work for numerous women, there are risks relating to these procedures. How To Murder Your Muscle Gains

A guy in the gym finishes a hard, focused set of barbell squats and re-racks the weight. His legs are wobbly, his heart is racing and he feels light headed as he takes a big swig from his water bottle. He looks down at his watch and presses the start button to begin counting down backwards from 2 minutes.

He saw on TV that 2 minutes is the perfect rest time between sets, and what he wants is to do it exactly in that way. So, the watch beeps and he's be back in the squat rack ready for his next set of exercises with the weights.

Time is up. His still feel weak and his heart is still beating a lot, he doesn't feel completely ok, but the watch beeped and that means his has to go back and perform another set, it does'nt matter how he feels.

So, he starts the next set. His legs are burning and he wishes that he could have had more time to prepare for this set. He starts the set, but just with a mediocre effort. He finishes the set. Again, he push the button. He does'nt know but, just as a lot of guys in another gyms, he is making a big mistake.

The only thing he is doing is to force his body to train at an effort level really far for his maximum potential, and his muscles are rarely being stimulated to grow.

A muscle respond to stress. WHen you lift an amount of weight doing a number of reps your body adapts to this level of stress. If you want your muscles grow, then you have to force your body to higer levels.

What you have to do then is to lift as much weight as you can again, and again, and again.

If you don't rest enough between sets, you will not reach your maximum strenght potential sacrificing the amount of weight you can lift, and also sacrificing the amount of muscle you can build. So, to begin the next set qhen you are still tired is the big mistake you should not make.

A watch will never tell you when you are ready to begin the next set. Instead of it, listen to your body and you will know when to follow your training.

The time between sets cannot be always the same. It will depend on the type of exercise you are performing. Some of them will tax the body much more heavily than others and obviously will take more time to your body to return to the ideal state. - 16650

Do you go through the leftover dilemma several times a year? You've been cooking some big meals lately and now have a refrigerator full of leftovers. I know the look you'll get from your family if you attempt to put another plate of the same food in front of them for a third day. I suspect you'll end up scraping the leftovers into the compost bin if you don't think up something unique real soon.

How can you create a meal that isn't a repeat of the same old plate? The trick to creating a new dish is to think about what ingredients you are working with, not just the finished dish.

1) Old Fashioned Potato Soup

Mashed potatoes are a good basis for most creamy soups. In your big soup pot, brown up some diced bacon, about three or four strips. Then, in the same pot, add some cut up celery and carrots, as much as you like. Once they are soft, add diced onion. When the onion is soft, add 1 tbsp. oil, 1 tbsp. flour, and 1 1/2 cups milk and stir until thick. Now add your potatoes and bacon pieces and cook very slowly until nice and warm. This is a simple and filling meal with a little crusty bread alongside.

2) Turkey And Gravy Sloppy Joe's

Break up some leftover turkey either with a fork or dice with a knife. You can use both white and dark meat. Take out a big skillet and cook a couple slices of bacon, diced up. In the same pan, add diced onion and garlic. Add the turkey pieces and put leftover gravy over until the turkey is covered. Add a little of your favorite barbeque sauce or grilling flavor, but just enough to give the gravy its barbeque flavor. Simmer slowly and serve over buns or crusty bread.

3) Curry Turkey Cauliflower Soup

Take your leftover cooked cauliflower and put it in your food processor. Pulse until smooth and creamy, adding a little milk as you go to make it soup-like. Sprinkle in about 2 teaspoons of curry, a little more or less depending on how strong you like it. Then, in a soup pot, cook some chopped carrots and onion, in a little oil, until soft . Pour the blended cauliflower into the pot and add some chopped leftover turkey. Simmer the soup until it's nice and creamy and hot.

4) Creamy Tomato and Green Bean Soup

The classic green bean casserole already has cream of mushroom soup and cheese in the ingredients so it's perfect for a cheesy soup. Green beans with some nice diced tomatoes will perk this soup up a bit. Start with a big soup pot and saute a bunch of nice big chunks of celery. Then add some big diced pieces of onion cooking until transparent. Add a minced clove or two of garlic. Pour in one can of fire roasted diced tomatoes or regular diced tomatoes with a sprinkle of any good grill seasoning. Add your leftover green bean casserole a little at a time, stirring and heating through until you get the right soup consistency. Add a little chicken broth if you need to thin out the soup. Simmer until all the flavors are nice and savory together.

5) Egg And Stuffing Breakfast

Coat your muffin cups with non-stick spray or butter. Put stuffing in cup, working up the sides to form a dish for an egg. Crack one fresh egg in each stuffing cup and top with shredded cheddar or Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, just until the egg is cooked and cheese is all melted. When done cooking, remove and let the muffin tin cool for a minute or two before removing the egg cup.

There are many more ways to create a new meal out of holiday leftover dishes. Rethink the leftovers you have on hand, keeping in mind the ingredients that are in that particular dish. Then you'll be able to add just a few ingredients to come up with a new and unique meal. - 16650

#1: Not Using Free Weights

By this, I mean you have to be working many muscles at one time. This will give your body benefits of having stability and coordination between muscles. However, muscle building programs like to incorporate machines into their workouts. Workout machines tend to focus on one muscle. This is bad because it will take forever to work many muscles, and you do not develop any real life application. Free weights can help you to work many muscles at once. Doing compound exercises like Squats and dead lifts can benefit you in saving time, working many muscles at once, and also gaining stability and coordination between muscles.

#2: The Program is Not Efficient for the Every Day Person's Time Constraints

A program developed by the usual gym rat you would see at the gym working out every time you went there would not be a good fit for someone only having an hour to workout. Your workout does not need to be long and strenuous; rather it should be short and sweet. Using fewer reps and sets with a larger amount of weight can give you the best benefits in a short amount of time.

#3: Where is the Resistance?

A good muscle building program should have a high amount of weight, while using less reps and sets. Programs using 50% of your one rep max are a waste of time. Your target should be to life around 80-85% of your 1 rep max. If you use less weight, you will see slight improvement until the improvements will stop. Its like your body will have become immune to lifting such a small amount of weight.

#4: More Recuperation During and After Workouts

During and after work outs, resting is important for your muscles to build. Instead of rushing to your next workout to get done faster, plan in more time and rest longer between exercises. This will give your muscles time to refresh and prepare for your next work out and put less strain on them.

When you are done with your workout, make some time to rest and take a nap. You just put your body through hard work and now it needs time to cool down and rebuild. At night, make sure you are achieving 8+ hours of sleep, if possible. Relax anytime during the day and make sure to keep a low stress environment, which is best for fast muscle growth.

Physiotherapy in Patients with Joint Hypermobility Syndrome

Our skin, discs, tendons, ligaments and many other tissues all rely on the protein collagen for their structural integrity, ensuring normal flexibility, healing capacity, strength and cohesiveness. This allows us to put the considerable daily stresses on these tissues without problems and collagen is also very involved in the strength and elasticity of internal organs such as our arteries. Some people are called "double jointed" because they are so bendy whilst others have very stiff and tight joints. Collagen is a very important protein in our connective tissues, at least partly dictating what activities we can perform and how we recover from injury.

Ehlers-Danloss syndrome is caused by an abnormality in the way collagen is produced and acted upon in the body, causing an inheritable deficiency in the strength of the substance. 10 forms of EDS are known to exist, with much overlap, and EDS Three is considered the same as benign joint hypermobility syndrome, called benign because the serious changes such as in the arteries are not present in this form. Very hypermobile joints are the most obvious sign of this syndrome, with a smooth, flexible skin which tends to heal slowly and scar poorly in terms of wide and thin scars.

The typical signs and symptoms of joint hypermobility syndrome are a hyperextensible skin, hypermobile joints, tendency to dislocations, fragile tissues, poor wound healing and a tendency to bruise easily. Chronic joint and limb pain is also common and many sufferers live with constant and multiple pain complaints. Patients show many abnormal muscle balances and have difficulty stabilising their joints appropriately, causing incorrect muscle uses which can lead to pain problems. Functional limitation is common in this group, who cannot participate in contact or vigorous sports without significant joint injuries and pain.

Advice to patients is very important and education should be a priority to allow them to manage their condition over the long term. Avoidance of excessive or repeated heavy lifting and other movements which put stresses and strains on the hypermobile joints is important and patients should avoid end-range postures which strain the lax ligaments. Joint protection, as in arthritic joints, is essential and patients should avoid showing off by performing "party pieces" such as dislocating a joint voluntarily or other extreme tissue manoeuvres. Stretching the joints strongly may worsen the underlying problems, and any activity carrying high risk of skin damage should be avoided.

The stresses and strains of daily life and recreational activities tend to result in more acute injuries and pain complaints in hypermobile patients which are managed by physiotherapy to the joints and muscles. Even in normal circumstances the shoulder is very mobile yet unstable but in hypermobile patients the lax connective tissue makes the joint very unstable and difficult to control. The shoulder and surrounding muscle must keep the large ball of the arm bone aligned with the small socket during large movements and this is difficult with hypermobility, leading to abnormal muscle patterns and pain. It is common to have pain due to this and to repeated dislocations.

Spinal pain is common in hypermobility perhaps secondary to the difficulty in keeping good stability of the joints as forces act upon them. Gentle mobilizations can be performed for local problems but manipulation is likely to be unwise. General exercises to keep the joint moving can be helpful but end range and stretching exercises should be avoided. Gentle weight training and core stability work may help stabilise the spine and other joints, increasing the muscle tone to hold joints in their mid ranges and prevent excessive play. The knees may bend back excessively and suffer arthritic change in time, so work on the hamstrings to counteract this in standing is an option. Often patients need to work on several areas, maintaining muscle strength and control.

All postures and activities are a challenge to a patient with hypermobility as unsuitable stresses are very easy to apply, causing pain. The patterns of muscle activity are abnormal when the joints are under load, pushing them into end range positions where the ligaments and capsules suffer from strains. Physiotherapy retraining of poor muscle balance can be helpful but patients need to be constantly vigilant and work at their weaknesses persistently. The most important factor overall is patient education as the condition is a long term one and all physical activities challenge the joints. - 16650

5 Leftover Meal Ideas Without The Boredom

You may now add some cut up turkey that you have leftover. Cook the soup slowly until heated through.

4) Green Bean Tomato Cheese Soup

If you have leftover green bean casserole, you're in luck. It makes the perfect start for a cheese soup. Adding some diced tomatoes gives this soup a fresh flavor. Get out your big soup pot and saute up some bite size pieces of celery until just soft. Add several big chunks of onion, cooking until transparent, and then add a little minced garlic. Pour in a can of diced tomatoes. You may want a little extra seasoning, like a grill seasoning or dry rub. Put in your green bean casserole, slowly mixing in all the ingredients. If it seems a little thick, add a bit of chicken broth. Now just heat, stirring often, until the soup is all creamy and hot.

5) Egg And Stuffing Breakfast

Spray a muffin tin with non-stick spray or brush with butter or oil. Spoon enough stuffing in each muffin cup to form a little cup with room for one egg. Sculpt A Lean, Hard, Athletic Physique With Only Barbell

I know exactly the weights this guy is talking about. I think most of us grew up with them right? They were basically cement weights covered in plastic, and over time the plastic busted up and the cement started to get busted underneath remember?

I guess I'm showing my age :)

Anyways

YES! You can build strength and power with archaic equipment!

You just need someone to show you how. Luckily you met me. And luckily I just read most of Dan John's awesome "From the Ground Up".

In this brilliant little ebook Dan John defines the "Rapid Ascent Program", which made up of three exercises:

1. Power Clean

2. Push Press

3. Squat Move

And here's how you did the program (from his book):

"The program was very easy. Primarily, groups of four boys were given a bar. The bars were weighted from too lightpossibly 25 poundsup to maybe close to 100 pounds. Each group of boys would lift one at a time, put the bar down, then the next boy would lift. The four would continuously move from lifter to watcherthe bar never stopped. The three sets (explained in just a moment) would not take very longindeed, occasionally it was hard to catch your breath in time for your next set.

The repetitions were very easy

* First set: 8 repetitions

* Second set: 6 repetitions

* Set Number 3 -- 4 repetitions

The goal was simple: once you got all 18 reps (8+6+4), you added weight. If you started with a bar that was excessively light, the succeeding workout, you would be bumped up to the next weight and a stronger group. (Needless to say, actual variations could include making a whole new group with more weight, tooor whatever necessary to make the group work together)."

Sounds simple doesn't it?

That's the beauty of this program!

You don't need a lot of equipment to build strength, muscle and power all while increasing your cardiovascular fitness and burning off pounds of fat.

What you DO need is a little "do or die" attitude. You have to decide you really WANT to achieve your fitness goals, then you'll find a way to use whatever equipment you have available to make it happen.

Thus if you think you don't have a sufficient equipment to get into top shape and attain your fitness goals you are erroneous. You are erroneous. You are erroneous.
