3,2, 1.... HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Yep it is that time again and we have all welcomed 2009 one way or another. Of course there is the question that you start hearing at this time of the year So what is your New Years Resolution? Rather than setting ourselves some new years resolutions that generally only last a few weeks as it is purely fuelled on will power. How about we design 2009 the way we want instead. So how do we do that? I have put 6 points to follow to assist you in creating your next 12 months to be the best yet!
1. REALISE your 2008 achievements - So many people get to the end of each year and only think about all that they hadnt accomplished and think about how they can make the next one better. Before you get ahead of yourself, stop and give yourself some credit! I bet you can sit down and write 20 things you achieved in 2008. It can be anything from: getting a promotion; my daughter told me how glad she was to have me as her mum/dad; got the pet I always wanted; climbed that mountain; won the team sport champion; or achieved a better grade at school. This list can have anything, and no achievement is too small " EVERYTHING counts so put it in. Once you have your list - celebrate and treat yourself for such a great year!
2. Well done on your accomplishments! The nest step which will support you in your future successes is to put down on paper the reasons you believe helped you in achieving those goals. Were there obstacles that you managed to overcome, and if so - how did you do it? What was the key point that pushed you over the line? All the lessons learned here will help you in your achievements this year.
3. Now is the time to focus on this year. Get your creative juices flowing and write a massive list of all the things you would like to achieve in 2009. Make sure you add at least one massive goal, that if you achieved it, it would make this year the best one ever! Dont worry about how you will achieve it, just let yourself dream and write the list. Once you have quite a lot, find your top 10 that you want to focus on, that are most important to you.
a. When writing your goals it is very important to realise what are your goals and what are other people. Dont put goals in there that are goals that your parents want you to achieve, or that your partner wants you to achieve. You are the most important person to yourself, so make sure you treat yourself with that respect. You will also find that you will achieve our own goals quicker than goals that are from other people.
4. You have your own top 10 goals. Now is the time to describe them in detail. Write what it is like sitting in your new BMW 320d, what it smells like, what it feels like and what other people are doing around you. Focus on being present in the moment of achieving the goal and write as much detail as possible. Write this all in the present tense.
5. VERY IMPORTANT: this next point is where things really start happening, so do not skip this step! After each goal, write down why this goal is important to you. Write what it would mean if you never achieved it - you need to get to the reasons why so that you can consciously realise the importance of the goal.
6. Finally prioritise your top 10, giving them dates to achieve it by. Put this dated list somewhere where you can see it regularly. Come back to the goals weekly, monthly and even quarterly. Another final point to keep in mind - dont stress about the details of the how, in fact you dont need to focus on it. Focus your energy and mind on being the person who achieves the goals, and the rest will come to you through the law of attraction.
Being the person who achieves your goals is your aim. Walk like someone who has achieved your goal, talk like someone who has achieved your goal... basically Fake it til you make it! As long as you are creating the energy of someone who is a success you will attract what is needed in order for you to succeed! Now have an absolutely successful 2009, you deserve it! Enjoy each moment, and be grateful for the journey. And finally, to keep you thinking about it, I will leave you with a quote from Rhonda Burn: You can turn your life into paradise but the only way you can do it is to make the inside of you a paradise. There is no other way. You are the cause, your life is the effect. - 16650
