Review: Human Touch 7120 Massage Chair Recliner

By Steve Esquire

Human Touch has a full massage chair line and the HT 7450 is the top of the line. We take an inside look at the salient features, functions and warranty coverage of this high end massage chair. The HT 7450 is also a Zero Gravity massage chair. We present our evaluation of this massage chair recliner.

If you are just starting your search for a massage chair, then please heed this warning. Go with the top brands and you will be happy for the long term. There are so many imported massage chairs that have a ton of features, but they are prone to breakdown and the generous warranty will not get honored. The top brands have retail distribution, so you can relax and not worry if the company you bought it from will be there next year.

First let us review the warranty coverage for this high end lounger. The protection you get with the HT-7450 is 5 years on the structure of the chair. You get 3 years parts, 1 year labor and 90 days in home service. This warranty coverage is pretty good. We would like to see the labor be extended out more, but this is much better than you find from most manufacturers for this price range. The customer service is through a call center and they are very competent and turn around times for parts or service are adequate for routine issues.

This massage recliner is what is known as a zero gravity lounger. What is a zero gravity lounger? This is a combination of the chair back and leg rest position that makes it a zero gravity position. This position is where your knees are elevated above your heart. It is supposed to take the direct pressure from the spine and distribute it across the whole back.

The HT 7450 comes with an engineered ergonomic zero gravity recline function. Human Touch claims that tension can build up in the arms, shoulders and neck when reclined to the zero gravity position in most massage chairs. They have developed an armrest that moves independent of the chair back. This supports the body better than the traditional approach.

The seat of the HT7450 is also specially designed for getting you to the zero gravity position. The seat will actually tilt down as you recline the chair. This is designed to support the lumbar better over traditional chairs. By supporting the lumbar, the stress from your weight is better distributed than if it does not tilt down.

You may or may not be a fan of zero gravity, but what are the massage functions with this massage recliner? The HT 7450 comes with 8 automatic programs that work off a touch of a button. There are 8 seat massage choices with pulsating action. You can also select from 4 manual massage treatments. There is also a dual lumbar heating system built into the chair back. The leg rest has a built in calf massager.

The 8 pre-programmed massages are well designed and thought out from a massage therapy point of view. For instance, there is The Full Body Sore Muscle Relief massage. This starts off with a 3 minute warm up massage. It then goes into a 9 minute high intensity massage to deeply penetrate and soothe the muscles. Then it ends with a 3 minute warm down massage. The massage therapies are very effective on the HT 7450.

Overall, the HT 7450 zero gravity massage lounger is a solid contender in the high end luxury massage chair market. It boasts a sleek, modern design and can go in most rooms. It is made with top grain leather, which is a bit of a concern with the built in heaters in the chair back. In the past, these have lead to the leather cracking over time. Hopefully, this is not the case with this lounger. The massage therapy is well designed and effective for targeting relief. You should consider this massage chair if you are looking for a higher end massage chair recliner. - 16650
