3 Ways To Look or Appear Taller

By Rodney Williams

For some, growing taller through natural means may not be as easily accomplished as it is for others. Depending on your physical condition and/or age, exercises or other procedures used to help gain natural height may not be feasible. Or perhaps you're only looking for a temporary solution to make yourself look taller, without actually gaining any height.

Regardless of the situation, there are three easy ways to gain some height, both real and perceived, which requires very little effort on your part, just that burning desire to stand eye-to-eye with your peers.

1) If anyone was thinking of a simple way to gain height, shoes would probably be their first thought, and it's a good one. Yet while footwear that obviously increases height is of little use, there is footwear that will do the same, without being obvious that it's doing so. Insoles can also help perform this feat.

There are plenty of specially designed shoes on the market which can give you a height gain of two inches, while still being completely discreet. Insoles on the other hand are generally limited to a height gain of one inch, lest they not properly fit within the desired footwear.

2) Perhaps not as obvious as footwear, clothes too can be used to make you appear taller. With clothes, it's simply the illusion of being taller rather than with footwear, which does actually make you taller while you're wearing them.

Wearing tighter fitter clothing should be your first priority, as loose or baggy clothes give you a more squat appearance. Vertical lines on shirts are another great way to give off the illusion of being taller. Women should wear compact dresses or skirts, and no-waste pants. Men should also stick to wearing their pants as low as possible (within reason), and wearing cuff-less pants is also advised.

3) Lastly is your hair, which of course is somewhat up to the whim of the Gods, at least as far as whether or not you have any. This shouldn't of course be an issue for women, but balding men may want to consider getting a hair piece, or trying out hair renewal products.

Now we're not talking about raising your hair to the sky like you just got caught in an electrical storm, but even slightly spiked hair can do wonders for men, while women should wear their hair up as much as possible.

Using one or more of these techniques, you can easily give the appearance of being a few inches taller than you actually are, no long workout regime required. - 16650
