Learning About Lipodissolve

By Charles Donovan

One of the #1 concerns of women these days his how to get rid of cellulite. You see it is not always an easy process because it is something that affects both obese women and women that are in great physical condition. The crazy thing is that cellulite can still exist even in women that eat really healthy and exercise on regular basis. So at this point you are probably wondering what a possible solution would be.

Many have turned to lipodissolve, a fat dissolving procedure, to solve their stubborn unwanted fat problems. Lipodissolve is relatively non-invasive. It involves injecting a cocktail of ingredients including phosphatidylcholine and sodium deoxycholate directly into the fatty tissues. Once injected these drugs work to dissolve fatty tissue. It is then thought that the body expels these fat cells - hypothetically through the liver - although this has not been conclusively proven. It is also important to note that the mixture of ingredients is not standardized and may vary from doctor to doctor.

Lipodissolve has so rules as far as what areas can be treated, but these rules are very broad. It most cases lipodissolve can be used to treat areas such as the hips, under the chin, thighs, love handles, jowels, and the abdomen. Each treatment typically lasts about 30 minutes and in some cases anesthesia will be used if there is any discomfort. It is very important that multiple treatments take place on the area that is being treated for there to be complete eradication of the problem. There are some common side effects from these treatments. These include bruising, minor swelling, redness, and some soreness over the injection area. It will generally take around four weeks for the treatment to start working and can continue working for up to 12 weeks.

Lipodissolve has many proponents and many dissenters. As of yet it has not been approved by the FDA which states that lipodissolve involves the administration of "unapproved drugs for unapproved uses". Kansas has actually attempted to have legislation passed which bars doctors from participating in this procedure. The legislation has currently been blocked pending further research. Several countries have banned or warned against lipodissolve including, Brazil, the UK and Canada.

Believe it or not there is an alternaive to lipodissolve out there. This is called Mesotherapy. It is not as widely known and it does not really do the same thing. The difference here is the the drugs involved with mesotherapy are only injected into the middle layer of the skin whereas lipodissolve is injected all the way into the fat tissue. Mesotherapy wants to smooth the skin rather than dissolve of the fat like lipodissolve.

Diet and exercise are always the best way to lose weight and to keep it off. However, neither one of these methods offers "spot reduction", nor getting rid of fat precisely where you want to. Lipodissolve and mesotherapy do offer this "spot reduction" option with promises of a better looking body in a minimal amount of time with a minimal amount of pain. However, there is little formal research on these methods and no studies of the long-term side-effects. It is important to remember that even if one should undergo either one of these procedures diet and exercise are still essential in achieving the maximum result. - 16650
