Natural Treatment for Controlling Diabetes

By Marcus Clarkson

The biggest problem faced by many people today who suffer from diabetes is being able to control the condition effectively. Unfortunately, there is no real cure for this health problem, but there are plenty of conventional and alternative treatments now available that can be used to help in controlling it. In fact, studies carried out in the USA have shown that using diabetes natural control treatments over conventional ones can help reduce the risk of complications in a person by as much as 60 percent.

However, in this article, we look at just what some of these natural treatments are which can be used to control diabetes if you suffer from it. Certainly, there are many advantages to be gained from using natural rather than manmade products, the main of which is that they do not cause side effects. Where as with those made using chemicals can cause additional health problems to the person using them including such as skin allergies and dizziness.

Also, another reason why so many people prefer to use natural treatments over more conventional drug treatments is that they have proved to be much safer. Whilst the final reason for choosing natural treatments is that they are a lot cheaper to buy than drugs and they are also more readily available as well. Below we take a look at what some of the natural treatments for controlling diabetes are and which you may want to think about trying if you suffer from this condition.

1. Indian Kino (Pterocarpus Marsupium) contains a gum resin that is similar in looks to dried blood (commonly referred to as Dragon's Blood). This particular herb has been used for centuries in Indian medicine for treating many different ailments but has been found to be extremely effectively in helping to treat diabetes.

2. Momordica Charantia (Bitter Melon) or Balsam Pear as some people called it and can be found in Asia, Africa and South America. Just like the Indian Kino, this herb has been used for centuries and is effective at treating diabetes. It is the fresh juice and the extract taken from the unripened fruit that has been found to be effective at controlling a diabetic's blood sugar.

3. Gurmar (Gymnema Sylvestre) is an herb, which helps the pancreas in the body to produce insulin, which those who suffer from Type 2 diabetes are unable to do. But along with this herb doing this it also contains properties that can help to also control and lower blood sugar in those suffering from Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

4. Onion and Garlic are both effective at helping to control a person's diabetes as like all the other herbs previously mentioned they contain properties that are good at controlling their blood sugar. But unlike some of the herbs previously mentioned these are very readily and easily available.

Along with the diabetes control natural treatments we have mentioned above there are other ones, which diabetics use, and which you may want to consider trying also. There is cinnamon, fenugreek and blueberry leaves as well, but it is important that before you start using them you discuss the matter with your doctor first. - 16650
